BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Amplify Sleep Away Camp for girls is a nationally recognized, award-winning organization serving over 15,000 youth, raising more than $2 million in scholarships, and building a passionate, lifelong community of girls who know their voices matter.
Amplify finds its current home at Besant Hill School in the heart of the Ojai Mountains. Nestled on 500 acres of serene, inspiring nature, this campus is where girls from around the world come to unplug, make lifelong friends, and discover what they’re truly capable of.
Amplify helps girls find their voice, take creative risks, and feel proud of who they are. We foster real and creative skills from rock band and songwriting to film, fashion, and photography in a safe, inclusive community where kindness, belonging, and emotional safety aren’t extras—they’re the foundation of everything we do. Our staff includes working artists and educators from Berklee, UCLA, and beyond. Families come back year after year because something meaningful happens here.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Theater (Acting), Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Swimming, Waterfront/Aquatics, Technology, Academics, Adventure, Travel, Wilderness/Nature, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: Amplify Sleep Away Camp is proudly in residence at BESANT HILL SCHOOL, a beautiful, clean and safe campus in Ojai, CA—90 minutes northwest of Los Angeles and only 30 minutes from beautiful California beaches. The beautiful boarding school boasts 500+ acres of private land (including an 8-acre onsite organic farm!), state-of-the-art facilities, and nearly 100 years of honoring individuality, critical thinking, creative and artistic passions, global citizenship, and environmental activism.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have multiple state-of-the-art dormitories, outdoor pool, all air conditioned facilities, recreation/dining hall, amphitheater, movie theater, and can accommodate all special meal needs (gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.).

These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.
MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. This is subject to change, so please keep your ears perked throughout the day for announcements to make sure you don’t miss a meal. We offer both vegan and omnivore options and healthy snacks are available throughout the day.
SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.
FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!
THE FACILITY
Amplify Sleep Away Camp is very proudly in residence at Besant Hill School. Set in the mountains of Ojai, California, this amazing facility boasts one of the best views in Ventura County. Campers have private, air-conditioned residence halls, a private pool, a movie theatre for evening films, and delicious meals provided (dietary restrictions honored).

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: LIT PROGRAM: All campers in 11th or 12th grade participate in this intentional leader-in-training (LIT) program, where teens get all the fun of sleep away camp, but also all the professional experience and skill development of an advanced internship. Plus, LITs get to go on ADDITIONAL OFF-CAMPUS TRIPS designed just for them. Did we mention all the community service hours LITs can earn? (Spoiler alert: it's 40 whole hours!)

OTHER CAMP INFO: For a minimum of 1 week and up to 8 weeks, our budding young artists focus on their chosen creative track (e.g., photography, rock band). They also choose from over 50 weekly electives, like ever-popular DJing, skateboarding, screen printing, zine making, tie-dye, friendship bracelets, writing love letters to your future self, and many more.
Every week we also venture out on incredible day trips, like our local beaches for surfing or camp outs, and more! We also hold super fun camp-wide community events, like Friday night dance parties, pool parties, and of course our big end-of-camp showcase!
For girls staying multiple sessions we offer free adventure trips where we'll kayak, zip line, and more!
