CAMP FACILITIES: Kids stay in our 100 year old estate lodges. These buildings, equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and comfortable bedding, allow kids to be away from home and challenge themselves without being worried about a raccoon climbing into their sleeping bag at night time.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Vanderkamp Center runs a summer camp program that is radically different from any you'll find anywhere else. Just ask the folks at campingcoasttocoast .com, who called it a "one of a kind, magical place." These consultants loved our philosophy so much that they dropped everything to work here this summer, in 2014!

What makes Vanderkamp so different is that it treats children as true equals - getting rid of rules designed for adult convenience, and focusing on helping children to love themselves for exactly who they are. By helping children employ wise freedom, the growth seen by kids at Vanderkamp is really unlike anywhere else. While rules designed for adult convenience are discarded, Vanderkamp takes physical and emotional intimidation incredibly seriously, and it has fostered an environment where this sort of bullying is nearly non-existent.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have Leader in Training programs available for summer campers ages 15-18. This 2 year program teaches young people how to be Christian leaders in a world that tempts them to be anything but.

CAMP FACILITIES: Onyahsa is a small camp, with approximately 90 overnight campers and 16 day campers per week. Campers reside in lodges, cabins, or tents depending on age. It is located directly on Lake Chautauqua and has 180 acres of land. The facilities are modern, and the main lodges are used year-round.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Celebrating its 119th summer in 2017, YMCA Camp Onyahsa offers great experience for youth, teens, families, and adults. Nestled in its own 180-acre wooded bay on Chautauqua Lake, Western New York, it offers organized summer residential and day camp sessions, off-site horseback riding, teen activities, leadership development, and much more. Traditional Camp: This program is designed for youth ages seven to fourteen and all activities are developmentally appropriate. Traditional Camp is the heart of our program, for here are made the special friendships and fond memories, which last a lifetime. It is recommended for both new and veteran campers.

Traditional Camp will be offered during all summer sessions. Campers who attend Traditional Camp will enjoy all the favorite daily activities such as Swimming, Boating, Arts, Sports, Nature, and campers' "Choice." Swimming activities include National YMCA instructional swimming and water safety classes.

Boating generally offers kayaking, sailing, wind surfing, skin diving, fishing, rowing, and canoeing. Arts includes activities such as camp crafts, painting, clay sculpture, drama, and other creative projects. Sports offers a wide range of athletic activities like Soccer, Basketball, Climbing Wall, Archery, Court Games, New Games, and many others. Nature includes Environmental Education and outdoor activities such as hiking, planting, outdoor cooking, conservation, and many others.

Horseback Riding Camp: In addition to Traditional Camp, each week will offer Horseback Riding Camp at a local equestrian center. Campers bunk with other campers in the general program, but focus on horseback riding, (see the annual schedule), for part of the day, thus they will miss some of the Traditional activities described above. This experience especially suits older and veteran campers.

Teen Camp: Each week's fourteen or fifteen year-old campers who are registered for Teen Camp will participate in and help to conduct their own more autonomous and exciting programs such as trip-camping, "extreme team", climbing, sailboat racing, and many other great activities. Teen campers will be able to exercise their independence and responsibility by helping to create their own less-routine programs. They will also complete a Camp project and assist with special events. Our mission is to promote excellence in youth development through quality camp programs that place a premium on participants; safety, health, and happiness in an active outdoor environment.

The Camp Staff is comprised of experienced teachers and college and high school students; many of whom were former Onyahsa campers. All of these highly committed and competent adults are carefully screened, chosen, and trained by the YMCA. The Camp Director has served in this role for over 20 years.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership program. Campers who are fifteen years old (by the start of camp), and who register for a two-week Leader in Training (LIT) session, will have a great time taking trips and participating in more mature projects, while also learning the responsibilities required of leadership. This experience is great for older teens who want both excitement and responsibility, and who are ready to handle more independence.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships are available for most local campers and limited out of state applicants. Applicants are encouraged to apply early as camerships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Campers may register for more than one week. Each session runs from Sunday afternoon through Saturday morning, with a weekend program available for stay-overs. Sessions begin June 11 and run through August 12. Resident Camp tuition is $490/week. (Multi-session/sibling discounts are available). A Mini-Camp (ages 5-10) is offered August 6- 9. This program is $200. Day Camps run M-F from June 11 - August 12. The cost is $230/week, and multi-session/sibling discounts are available.

CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 2001, the JBFC shows hundreds of films each year in our five-screen art house theater and pioneers a unique, hands-on approach to media literacy at our Media Arts Lab across the street. Play, make, and explore with a range of cutting-edge technology in our state-of-the-art production spaces, including a sound stage, recording studio, screening room, editing suites, computer labs, and numerous shooting and production spaces. All sessions are held at the Media Arts Lab with occasional visits to the JBFC Theater just down the street, or into the village with supervision.

Viewing and Doing
Learn about media from the inside out through the JBFC’s Viewing & Doing program! Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. In addition, you’ll participate in film-related challenges and activities as you work together in groups.

On the Set
Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Queens College is a beautiful landscaped 79-acre campus with out-door and in-door tennis courts and playing fields for soccer, softball and lacrosse. The Fitzgerald Gym is 40,000+ sq ft. basketball and volleyball courts and an 25 yard length pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: EDUCATION AND SPORTS PROGRAM: ages 5 -14 This program provides enrichment for youngsters who wish to develop talents and interests outside their regular schools. Faculty members have been selected for their ability to communicate the joy of learning to young students and to promote invention, creativity, and self-expression. All indoor classes are in air-conditioned classrooms. For the 5 & 6 year old we offer Kindergarten Academy or First Grade Academy which has small groups supervised by caring counselors. This program is combined with a half day of Sports activities, taught by experienced instructors who encourage the love of physical fitness, sports and good sportsmanship.

NEW QC Sports Club: Ages 9-14
Queens College facilities are among the best in the City. The spacious Fitzgerald Gym houses an Olympic-standard pool and basketball courts. Outdoor facilities include tennis courts, softball fields and soccer fields. Children ages 9 to 14 can choose a major/minor program that allows them to experience a number of different sports.

THEATER PRODUCTION: ages 9-14
Do you enjoy acting? Do you like to dance? Are you artistic—can you create scenery and costumes? Or would you rather go behind the scenes and become a stage manager? This program will teach campers the many different aspects to creating a successful musical play. The Theater Production will stimulate your child’s imagination while equipping them with valuable traits such as self-esteem and confidence. Join the fun as we put together a musical for parents and peers to see! Past musicals have included The Little Mermaid, Jungle Book, Oliver, Mary Poppins, and others!

LITTLE THEATER: ages 5 - 8
We will work on our dancing, singing and acting in the mornings then go have fun in the gym and fields in the afternoon along with instructional swim time. This year we're looking forward a production of Lion King and 101 Dalmatians. It's adorable!

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. In fact, our boys’ camp is the oldest in the United States having been privately owned and operated by the same family since its establishment in 1905. In 1967 our current director, Jack Swan, saw the need for a summer camp for girls and opened Camp MacCready. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? Maybe you and your children are just curious to see what Pok-O-MacCready is all about, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge with an entire summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our mission at Rocky Brook is to foster independence and leadership while providing a physically and socially safe environment for every girl. Little Notch connects girls of diverse backgrounds with each other, positive mentors, and the land. OTHER CAMP INFO: Campers start their morning at 7:30 am giving them time to dress and any personal care before going to the dining hall to enjoy breakfast. At all meals, the campers, staff and volunteers work together to set the table, serve the food family style, and end the meal by cleaning and putting away the dishes. After breakfast, "kapers" are next. Kapers are community responsibilities throughout the camp. The campers then enjoy many fun-filled, camper-planned activities. The campers enjoy staying busy throughout the morning with programs such as hiking, boating, swimming, games, and arts & crafts. CAMP FACILITIES: Our facilities bring a little rustic charm to the camping experience. We embrace our location in the Adirondacks, and cherish the beauty if the outdoors in all that we do. Our campers stay in cabins until grade 8 and in platform tents through high school. We have a fabulous lake for swimming, boating and enjoying our water trampoline and slide. Campers who want to try new activities can have a try at our 30 ft high rock wall, our trapeze, or our zip line.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: One of the greatest programs at Camp Cedarbrook is our wilderness adventure trips, where campers can hike or canoe the great spacious outdoors the Adirondacks have to offer. Our trip programs challenge girls to push the limits of their physical abilities and have a great time doing it. Girls in high school can also take part in our Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)program or our Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program. Over a span of two summers, girls will learn to lead and guide young campers. The program is an opportunity for teens to learn responsibility, leadership and hard work.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership and Education Development (LEAD) and CILT (Campers in Leadership Training) are both a one summer leadership development program for high school girls. LEAD is first and for those wanting more training they can continue with CILT. There is an emphasis on supervised leadership training in a camp setting. It includes class sessions, Bible study, a wilderness trip, and lots of hands-on experience in leading girls. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.

CAMP FACILITIES: Come spend the summer at resident YMCA Camp Weona and discover what dreams are made of in a place “where only good prevails.” With over a century of camping experience, and built on the Christian heritage of the YMCA, we value honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. YMCA Camp Weona offers both traditional and high adventure activities. Horseback riding through the forest, kayaking under the blue sky, making new friends, singing by the campfire, jumping into the refreshing pool, learning how to set up a campsite, fishing at the lake; each day is full of adventure. YMCA Camp Weona serves children 7 to 17 years old with exciting summer camp options for one, or two or more week stays. All campers live in one of 18 rustic bunk style cabins with shared restrooms facilities. Campers return home with increased self esteem, friendship building skills, and the ability to make good decisions on their own. You’ll find that your child will become better at meeting and getting to know people and will learn to take positive risks at learning new things.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We pride ourselves in selecting staff that are role models of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. As a result, the YMCA Camp Weona culture and setting are safe, fun, and enriching physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. We recruit from local high schools and colleges, as well as all over the country and around the world. All staff participate in an intensive week-long residential training that includes safety management, working with children in group settings, leading activities, camp policies and procedures, and child abuse prevention. Necessary staff members are lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certified as well as other nationally-recognized certifications. YMCA Camp Weona takes the health and safety of our campers very seriously.

We have a 6:1 camper-to-leader ratio which assures close supervision of all activities. During the summer session a fulltime health officer lives on site and a physician is on call 24 hours a day. Also, YMCA Camp Weona is certified by the New York State Health Department and has periodic inspections throughout the summer. YMCA Camp Weona is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA is a non-profit organization that member camps join voluntarily. For nearly two decades, YMCA Camp Weona has been a member of this organization and on a semi-annual basis is visited by ACA, which verifies that we are maintaining over 300 standards of operation in camping. These are industry standards and recognized by the government.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Building on the tradition of “super” leadership, the YMCA believes in growing our future leaders as well as enhancing our teen population’s skill base. Leaders in Training (LIT) is geared toward teens who are ready to test their leadership skills while working with younger campers. All LITs must demonstrate the YMCA’s core values, have a service mentality, and strong desire to learn and grow leadership skills. Participating as an LIT may count toward high school community service hours for graduation. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At YMCA Camp Weona, we believe that every child should have the chance to experience camp. The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provides financial assistance to families within our community who are in need of financial support and may not have the ability to pay the full fee. Financial assistance is determined based on a thorough review of an application and a personal interview with the applicant. Assistance will be granted on the basis of financial need resulting from low income, emergency expenses or other circumstances that inhibit an individual’s ability to pay a prescribed fee. As part of our mission, we teach campers responsibility with an opportunity to Earn Their Way to Camp. Campers may choose to pay for part or all of their camp fees through the annual YMCA Camp Candy Sale which runs from January through July.

OTHER CAMP INFO: YMCA Camp Weona is a “Group Work” Camp. At YMCA Camp Weona, our rustic cabins provide a home for small groups of no more than 12 campers who live together and attend daily activities as a group. Cabin groups are made up of either boys or girls entering similar grades and registered for the same camp program. Groups of 8-12 campers of similar gender and age attend daily activities together as a cabin with their leaders. The intention is to foster a “family-like” atmosphere within the group. Menu - Our back-to-basics menu is prepared each day in the dining hall. The YMCA offers items that children enjoy in their daily life that help sustain the additional energy needed during long days at camp. Our food service staff prides themselves on the fact that there are no trans fats in our meals. Special consideration is given for children who have allergies or prefer a vegetarian option.

Cabin/Bunk Mates - Campers may request a bunk mate within one school grade of each other, are of the same gender, and are registered for the same program. A bunk mate request is included in the parent pack and must be returned three weeks prior to attendance. Requests made after the three-week deadline may not be honored. In order to promote inclusion within each cabin, only one bunk mate request per child will be honored. (Bunk mates must be reciprocal – ex. John picks Tim and Tim must pick John.) Groups of four or more may be split to promote new camper inclusion.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA Camp is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. A week-long sleep-away program in a beautiful camp location, YEA is designed to be a fun and transformative experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues.

Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over. Youth who have participated in our programs report that the camp was one of the most fun, rewarding and life-changing experiences they have had, and, with YEA's community support, have gone on to start school clubs, plan fundraisers for nonprofits, organize community clean-ups, and attend hearings to comment about important community issues.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The athletic program includes team sports and individual challenges. From basketball, softball, soccer and Frisbee to tennis, archery, biking and yoga, Ramah offers activities for all interests and skill levels. Older campers have the option to compete against other camps in varsity and junior varsity programs. They can improve their skill by learning from experts in our "Coaches-in-Residence" program. Yom Sport provides everyone with a day of friendly competition at all skill levels. We also offer a four day intensive sports clinic.

Ramah Berkshires campers enjoy swimming, boating and water play on beautiful Lake Ellis. The Red Cross certified waterfront staff instructs and guards our daily instructional swim periods, as well as free swim times. For older campers, we offer a lifeguard training certification. Our water trampoline, slide, "blob" and "Summit" add to the fun on the waterfront. Campers enjoy learning to kayak, canoe, and sail on the lake. Older campers have opportunities to participate in overnight boating adventures, as well.

Summer camp is about the great outdoors, and there's plenty of that at Ramah! Our Al Hagova specialists are trained to teach environmental values to campers through overnights and nature walks. Older campers experience multi-day bike trips and hiking trips. Campers of all ages look forward to "flying" through the air on our zip-line, or mastering climbing skills on our rock wall. Groups of campers learn to bond and cooperate while on our ropes course or hiking up Ramah Mountain. Our in-camp mountain bike trail is used by campers of all ages.

Jewish music and dance are keys to our program! Campers learn classic Israeli dances and songs, as well as modern pop tunes. Among the highlights of the summer are the Zimriyah (camp–wide song festival) and Rikudiah (dance festival). Drama specialists offer workshops in dramatic techniques and skills. Many camper edot (divisions) perform a musical play in Hebrew. Interested campers can opt for drama workshops. Those campers who love to sing can be part of our a cappella groups. Our staff and older camper a capella group performs each Friday evening, setting the mood as Camp ushers in Shabbat.

Experienced artists and art teachers transmit their love of arts and crafts and fine art throughout the summer. From painting, sculpting and papier mache to jewelry-making, woodworking and tallit-making, campers are introduced to a wide-range of activities and have the opportunity to hone their skills in areas of special interest. At various times during the summer, visiting artists share their specialties with our campers.

The multi-media center enables campers to explore photography, radio and film-making. Interested campers can improve their photography skills as they document the summer in pictures. They can anchor their own radio show on Camp's radio station, Kol Ramah (Voice of Ramah), that broadcasts throughout Camp. They can even film, direct, edit and produce movies under the guidance of our videography staff.

Interwoven into all aspects of camp life are Conservative Jewish values and Ahavat Yisrael, love of Israel. Campers participate in age-appropriate and meaningful daily prayer. Jewish learning factors into all aspects of the daily schedule, from sportsmanship to the Jewish view of saving the environment.
Integral to the Ramah community is the Mishlachat, educators and support staff from Israel who work in all aspects of camp life. They provide campers with a taste of Israel, exposure to Hebrew language, and an understanding of current events in the Middle East.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our oldest campers, entering eleventh grade in our Gesher division learn important leadership skills, spending time as counselors in training (CIT) by helping our youngest campers with their daily activities. These campers receive specialized training from the Ramah Staff, as well as on-going instruction from visiting specialists during the summer. This last year, Gesher—meaning bridge—allows these campers to envision themselves as models and leaders to younger campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We are committed to ensuring that no eligible camper is turned away due to financial hardship and to providing a Ramah experience for any camper who might not otherwise have been able to become part of our Ramah family. Camp Ramah offers financial assistance to campers and serves the Jewish community in cooperation with local synagogues and schools. The financial assistance process is strictly confidential. It begins with parents contacting their synagogue rabbi, educational director or other synagogue leaders. Please read about the process in our online application. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Ramah in the Berkshires is the ideal location for your group to spend time together in a Jewish environment. Come experience the magic of “Ramah Shabbat” with your school, synagogue, or organization. Ramah Retreats also hosts B’nai Mitzvah, weddings, reunions and more. Our facility, only 70 miles from New York City, includes private "hotel-style" housing for adults to stay in the comfort of our newer facilities. All amenities can be tailored to meet your needs, and an onsite Ramah liaison is provided for every group to ensure the highest quality service during your stay.

OTHER CAMP INFO: For entering third graders, Ta’am Ramah (Taste of Ramah) gives first time campers an eight day “taste” of the Ramah experience, guided by nurturing, experienced staff for this first time sleep-away camp experience. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers reach Tanager by a three mile motor boat ride and sleep in tents by the lake shore and eat on open porches. We spend most of our days outdoors, while also enjoying activities in well-kept buildings and leantos built in traditional Adirondack style.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1925 Tanager Lodge has remained small and personal. With no road access or electricity and set apart from the technological world, the setting is ideal for fostering children's appreciation of nature and their connection to it. Life in Tanager's diverse, close-knit interdependent community gives campers and staff a special opportunity to be a valued part of something greater than themselves, which in turn encourages personal growth. The high camper to staff ratio (nearly 2:1) allows girls and boys to develop lifelong outdoor skills. The children achieve their individualized goals in a supportive, noncompetitive environment.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.

CAMP FACILITIES: Children live in wood-framed and screened cabins by age group, yet choose activities and wilderness trips individually. We have a wide range of activities in camp, and an extensive wilderness program - hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing throughout the Adirondack region.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The North Country Camps - Camp Lincoln for Boys and Camp Whippoorwill for Girls - are adventurous and fun full-season resident camps located in the Adirondack region of NY State. We offer a program that emphasizes individual choice, and we offer a wide range of activities in camp including horseback riding, sailing, canoeing, swimming, windsurfing, kayaking, bicycling, soccer, baseball, softball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, tennis, archery, art, drama, dance, and woodshop.

We also offer an extensive Wilderness Trip program. The trips -day trips, overnights, and 3, 4, 5 day trips - include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, bicycling, riding, and sailing. Campers live in cabin groups of five or six campers with one counselor. Overall camper:counselor ratio is 3:1. The majority of campers attend for the full 7 1/2 week season, and we also have a 5 week option. First-time campers may enroll for 3 weeks with the option to stay.
